Why Clear Aligners? Why Invisalign®?

Clear aligner straightening options like Invisalign® align your teeth into more desirable and attractive positions using a series of clear removable aligners. Each one is carefully custom made to your exact specifications to ensure a comfortable and easy fit.

The removable aligners allow you the option to take them out if you need to. Whether you’ve got an important event to go to, want to eat your favourite food or are simply taking a selfie, Invisalign® fits perfectly into your lifestyle without needing you to make any drastic changes.

More than nine million people worldwide have chosen Invisalign’s® virtually invisible clear aligners to give them the straight smile they’ve always dreamed of. It is effective, comfortable and safe!

Your Invisalign® smile journey

We start with a digital impression or scan, allowing our expert dentists to create computer simulations of your teeth and how they need to move. We can even show you your predicted future smile as we design it!

Your series of bespoke, nearly invisible and removable aligners are created. You’ll wear each clear and comfortable aligner for 22-23 hours a day, before moving onto the next.

Your teeth move little by little, week by week, until the gradual forces have straightened your teeth according to your treatment plan, creating your beautiful, straighter smile.

You will start seeing results in just a few weeks, and your new smile can be achieved in as little as three months, depending on your individual case.

FAQs

Does Invisalign® hurt?

You may experience some initial discomfort, typically described as a feeling of pressure. This is normal and is a sign the aligners are working, as your teeth are starting to move into their desired position. Any discomfort should go away after taking pain relief or after a few days.

Will it affect my speech?

Most patients have no problems at all, however you may notice minor difficulties pronouncing certain words as you get used to the look and feel of your aligners. This is completely normal and your speech should adjust back to normal in a couple of weeks.

Am I suitable for Invisalign® or aligners?

If you are interested in Invisalign®, we see you for a full smile consultation, where we take time to understand your smile goals and dream outcome. Many patients are suitable for clear aligners, as they can be used for nearly all mild to more complex teeth straightening and bite issues. They are custom made to exactly fit with ease and comfort and do not interfere with your lifestyle or appearance.

Are there different types of aligners?

Yes, there are dozens of different aligner systems available but they vary in quality, suitability and outcome. We only work with the market leaders in aligner technology including Invisalign®, SPARK, ClearCorrect or Quick Straight Teeth.

How much will it cost?

We ensure our prices are extremely competitive when compared to other dentists in the surrounding Leeds area. Our Invisalign® treatment fees are quoted above, and we offer flexible payment options to help spread the cost and make it more affordable. We will be able to give you an exact cost for your treatment after we have assessed your case at a consultation appointment.

How long will it take?

The length of time it takes to complete treatment and achieve your dream smile depends on the complexity of your case. For some patients, a new straight smile can be achieved in as little as three months. We will let you know the timescales for your treatment at your smile consultation.

How should I clean my aligners?

You should keep your aligners clean by rinsing them before you put them back in your mouth each time, and making sure you brush your teeth after each meal. We also recommend soaking your aligners in a special aligner cleaner every few days.

How often do I need to wear my aligners?

You should wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink and brush your teeth.

After completing treatment, how long do I need to wear retainers for?

Retainers are essentially the final stage of your orthodontic treatment. After you have finished wearing your aligners, you will need to wear your retainers every night while you sleep to maintain your results and stop your teeth moving back to their original positions.
